So I want to carry like 3 galons of gas in the back for myself or anyone stranded on the road, but the gas cans at wal-mart and stuff are designed to leak. (I wouldn't be surprised if they are made by the gas companies) Do you guys know of any that DON'T leak and where to buy it?

Well, looks like the wedco/NATO cans are the best, then for plastic the scepter. There are USGI military cans that are great too.

i know what youre talking about. i took 1/2 gallon with me so i could cut someone grass and the tank tipped over without me knowing and i had a thick atmosphere of gas in my car for 3 weeks

thats quite alot, you would prolly be fine with just 1 gallon in the city. i would look into those plastic blitz ones, the red bottoms and yellow tops like a water bottle. they are kinda small, but we use those in the lab for storing biodiesel and they never leak or smell. make sure you get an extension cap too for filling car tanks. and most important is how well the cap and extension fit. it needs to screw on at least a few times and be secure while pouring. ive had some that fall off and spill gas everywhere.
