Electric window problem

2000 Civic EX 2-door 85,000 miles. The driver's window is sluggish going down, no problem going up. The problem seems to be worse in the morning when the weather is cooler and/or damp. What could be causing this?

Re: Electric window problem

try rolling the window down completely, then spray silicone lube in the channels where the window moves thru. put a small piece of paper towel at the bottom so the liquid doesnt seep into the door panel below. let it dry for 10 mins, then try again. you prolly need to do it every month or so when it gets slow again. it fixed my slow and squeaky driver and passenger windows perfectly.

Re: Electric window problem

That worked. i had a can of Liquid Wrench penetrating oil, but i was afraid the 'penetrating' part might damage the rubber, so i used a can of electrical contact spray lube that said it would not harm plastics. works great.
