Torn CV boot need DIY help!

Hi ,

I was just getting ready to change the oil and found a torn CV boot with a bunch of grease slung on the inside of the front wheel.

I've been forced to do a lot of DIY's lately do to being out of work.

I have never replaced a CV boot before.

I was wondering if this is one I could handle, and if so is there a step by step DIY for CV boot replacement including necessary clean up?

Also, does anyone know how much an inie would charge for this? I appreciate any help on the subject.

Honda does it for $300 where I'm at....I dunno about other places

Thanks. It's a little less here at dealship, but wanted to try to DIY if someone can provide step by step procedure.

CV boot replacement procedure is found in the shop manual. If you have a 96-00 civic, I can e-mail you the shop manual. But I think it might be universal. cleft_asunder@yahoo.com
