Need bigtime help here!!

i have a 97 civic , couple months ago it started having a bouncing idle , but its only between 1900-2000 RPM , it just jumps back and forth, i tried everything nothing worked, so i found a good deal and did a complete swap with a b18b integra engine, got the car back and it still does the same thing between 1900-2000 rpm, and its bad on gas . any tech out there that can help me out please?

Re: Need bigtime help here!!

did you try cleaning our the IACV? (idle air control valve?)

common symptoms of a flutuating idle is due to that valve on the throttle body. Happens if a motor is left a while without running. All the dust and etc gets in the valve and cause the idle flutuation.

Had that problem when i K swapped. The motor sat for months collecting dust in the throttle body and had a flutuating idle from 1k to 2.5k over and over and over. tried cleaning out the valve with brake cleaner, but still too dirty.

Had to get the IACV sensor replaced and the problems went away.

try cleaning it first then see how that goes.
