Odd thump while steering

I have a 1998 Honda Civic LX. Lately I've been hearing this weird noise while turning. It sounds like a repeating thump. It gets louder when I turn but I can still hear it when I am going staight. Anybody know what this could be? I'd really appreciate the help> Thanks!

Would you call it a thump or a ticking? If it sounds like a ticking noise its an axle. A thump could be a few things.

Kinda sounds like a busted CV joint.

does the thump get louder if you accelerate while you are turning the wheel all the way? and do you hear it more when turning to a particular side? When I had that problem it was the shocks.
