ok, how far back do i want to go if i get custom piping? all the way to the headers? or before the cat? or wat?

what good does adding 2.25 piping help to do? I am just courious. my friend has it on his and hist sound is a higher pitch than mine, and I have the stock piping. Does it affect the HP or is it just the sound of the exhaust?

Upgrading to a bigger pipe really doesn't do anything if you don't have i/h/e. It might change the sound a bit. It's a good thing to do if you have, or plan on installing i/h/e. People also upgrade the piping when installing a turbo so that it'll spool up a bit quicker.
