Tachometer

Does anyone know how to install an aftermarket tach in a 98 dx? I was looking at a tach and it said that it needed to be attached to a tach lead wire but my civic doesn't come with a stock tach. Is there even a tach lead wire in my car? And if not how do I go about installing a tach?

Re: Tachometer

There is a tach wire in the harness. Just ebay a EX or LX cluster and it should pop right in there without any problems.

Re: Tachometer

So it's just as easy as putting in an EX or LX cluster? So the tach will then work on the new cluster? And if I don't want to replace my stock cluster, how do I find the tach wire in the harness?

Re: Tachometer

I'll have to hunt the diagram out later, all I remember is the tach pin is B8.

I just spliced into the wire with the green tach wire and works fine for the past 2 years I would use heat shrink instead of tape though its one of those little jobs ill say ill do but never actually gets done...
hope this helps
