Crappy carbon fiber

I have a carbon fiber hood on my 95 civic and it looks like crap hazey oxadized wand just very unatractive, my question is could i get it fixed at a local shop or is it just best to have them paint over the CF with stock paint....? if there is a threat about this already sorry in advance im on a tiburon site and i hate when people do this but im not all that great with using this site yet thanks.

You can just get it recleared.. thats what i did but i got mine done in a candy blue clear coat so it looks like blue carbon fiber..

you can try to do it yourself with a polishing compound, but chances are the damage is too extensive and you need a body shop to sand it down and clear coat it. you should be waxing cf parts once a month at least to protect the finish.

I dunno what brand you have but it might even be cheaper to just replace the hood. If it was an ebay hood the price you would bay to get it recoated is prolly gonna be more then the hood was worth. My buddy did his prelude hood and it ended up costing him close to $300 for some BS about them having to sand and prep for 2 days. Anyway get an estimate done and see what the price is. You may just decide to buy a new cf hood from a more reputable company. And follow the advice about cf care. they are expensive to be replacing every year. Good Luck.

naw it should only cost 200..alls you need is a good clear coat with that UV protection and you will good.. Just polish it or wax it every month

Yeah I sorta figured it was a rip and I realize it after I gave the same shop $3k and my bumper came back to me by being held onto my car with a zip tie...Never again
