New DEPO Tail lights install??

Hey everyone... I'm a brand new member and have a question. I'm not very familiar with working on vehicles, so when I found some new tail lights (DEPO) on ebay, here's the link to the item I won http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3A12&viewitem=

I brought them to a local mechanic to install. The guy pulled off my old tail light and couldn't figure out how to plug in the new tail lights. He showed me the 4 plug-in harnesses and only 3 of them plug in to my car. The 4th one (right in the middle of the tail light), does not plug in the same way my OEM tail light plugs in. Is there some sort of adapter that I need to buy?

Has anybody here bought the Depo lights for 01 Civic 2dr?

Any help is much appreciated.

Re: New DEPO Tail lights install??

these may be set up (wired) for an 04-05. check the 01-03 to 04-05 tail conversion in the DIY...

Re: New DEPO Tail lights install??

I'm not 100% sure, but after looking at the tail light again, it looks like that top plug (the gray piece is a plastic adapter to a black plug) - and it looks like that runs directly to the red brake leds. I think the bottom right corner is the blinker, and the bottom left corner is the reverse light (the clear round part of the lamp that's surrounded by a thin red ring)

The picture that I took is the back of the Right tail light - if that helps.

I appreciate your help.

Re: New DEPO Tail lights install??

you can buy a new connector for that top socket from the dealer (for 04-05 civic coupe). i can't verify if its for the brake or the turn signal tho. i think the top would be the brake.

Re: New DEPO Tail lights install??

that top part is the turn signal led plug. im pretty sure now. the bottom left is the brake/tail.... on the 01-02 the brake/tail go together as 1 plug. (which would be the bottom left)

LOL... it's all good - no hard feelings, i'm not offended. Someone is going to think any tail lights I would've bought are ugly - you just can't satisfy everyone

But I do appreciate the feedback here, and the help you guys have given. I'm going to get that extra part and get my tail lights plugged in... I'll post pictures when I'm done.

i hope everyone had a merry christmas.

Re: New DEPO Tail lights install??

What kind of headlights do you guys recommend? Anything good on ebay? I want to replace mine because the one on the right isn't even OEM. Previous owner put an aftermarket on it... for some reason. Not only that, but BOTH the left/right adjustments are broken. Seriously, the previous owner... she's borderline retarded I tell you.

Re: New DEPO Tail lights install??

well ive seen these in action.. and the top ones are the brake, and the bottom one is the turn signal... and if you got an 03, then you gotta reverse the harness and/or convert to the 04-05 style of harness via extending wires
