Installing volt meter

has anyone on here put a volt meter in their car yet? I just got one and am going to install it soon so if you guys could give me any pointers as to where to tap in for the wires, let me know, thanks a lot!

Depending on where you mount your gauge. I taped into the wires behind the 12volt accesory plug in/ cig.lighter.
