Removing Door Handles Help?

Hey Guys, I've spent lots and lots of time (days) looking for instructions online, diagrams, anything to help me figure out how to take out the exterior door handles on an EM2.
I have the door panels off and everything, but now comes the problem...
Whats next?
If anyone has experience or knows what to do, could you please help me out.
I've searched all the DIY's already on here and other sites but only thing I found related was other people asking but then decided to take it to a shop or something.
Thanks in advance

The service manual tells you exactly how to do it.

I don't know what year you have, but if it's 01-03 then:
1) Raise Glass
2) Remove door panel and plastic cover
3) Release the retainer clip, remove the lock cylinder, disconnect the cylinder rod
4) Disconnect the outer handle rod, remove the nuts, remove the outer handle protector from the outer handle
5) Pull out the outer handle

The manual has lots of nice pics and diagrams.

Edit: Even the Haynes manual goes over it. Go buy yourself a manual, they are worth the $

I hear that. But, which is cheaper, the manual, or the cost of labor at a shop? Look at it as a one time investment that could save your $1000's in labor costs down the road. Every vehicle I have ever purchased I've bought, at the minimum, a Haynes manual for within a week of owning the car.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. and I've actually meant to. I've looked them up before and everything but just haven't had the need really until now. Thanks for the quick lead through though, I'm gonna give it another shot tomorrow when the suns out

ur gonna have to remove teh WHOLE door untill u see this:

then you gotta roll up ur window, then there are a few screws you will see where ur door handle is.

Yeah, I got the panel off and got one washer off but the second washer is in a weird spot behind part of the door frame and i can't reach it straight on because the only thing I've got that fits is an open end wrench.
