Another HID retro question
Why cant i just screw the lense infront of the reflector rather than mutilating my factory housing to fit them? I can understand on TSX proj. but im using Bimmer projectors. Its just a reflective bowl directing light into a glass lense right? Isn't that what we basically have in the OEM housing?
Another question is for anybody thats used BMW projectors in theyre retofit, how did you enclose the projector housing? The TSX/S2K projectors are sealed and compact but the BMWs are kinda long and open. Kinda why it would be nice if i could just use the lens. Any advice?

Re: Another HID retro question
i used the exact projectors. the bowl of the projector is what makes the entire piece what it is. without the bowl, you have nothing. here are a few pics, the shroud i used around the projector is from www.retro-solutions.com and the front bezel is a shower drain.
the projector is small so mounting it is fairly easy.

i had to trim the shroud a bit to fit. here is stock vs trimmed

Re: Another HID retro question
the bowl is what directs and reflects the light in certain directions....and in this case, in the direction of the lense.
if you use a bowl that isnt designed to reflect the light into the lense, then you will have scattered light everwhere and the projector will be out of focused.

Re: Another HID retro question
ill check it out its all going to be painted flat black i think anyways unless i see a shroud that REALLY grabs my attention. I like the shrouds homie used on the late model Accord on that site looks real sick. I think it was the E46 shrouds.
