I've got a high pitch chirping sound coming from the clutch when it's all the way out. If I just put a little pressure on the clutch pedal the chirping stops.
Any suggestions to fix this? Is there an adjustment somewhere?
BTW, it's a '95 EX.
Thanks,
Bart

speedfoos,
maybe i'll throw a turbo in when i have it apart.....whadda ya think?
sorry, bad joke.
it's actually an airport car that goes about 50 miles back and forth to Newark Airport so the turbo isn't exactly a high priority item for me.
if I'm going to pull it apart what other items would you guys recommend doing at that time?
thanks,
bart

I would recommend getting the flywheel resurfaced, but that's really about it. And I mispoke. It's actually your pilot bearing that's going (the little guy in the flywheel), vice the throwout.
As far as when is it going to get worse....dunno. Could go out the next time you push in the clutch or it could go after another 1000 miles - it's hard to say exactly.
Put a turbo in it bart. That way it gets to airport that much faster!

i don't doubt i'd enjoy the power but what does a small amount of boost do to the gas mileage?
are there any honda motors mounted front-to-back with rear wheel drive? I've got an old MG project that might benefit from a turbo honda transplant.
thanks for the help. I'll keep tabs on it to see itf it gets worse and start planning the project.
great info on the turbo projects.

Have a peek under the hood of a Honda S2000. Lengthwise mounted engine (K24 I think, but I'm not an S2K guy.....yet) with RWD. Beautiful piece of engineering.
It's not the gas mileage on a turbo that's the issue. Andy's 489whp beast still gets 28mpg if he stays off the pedal a little. It's the reliability. You've got to be a maintenance **** and handy with a wrench (or have deep pockets) to keep them running right. Look at the T.E.A.R.S. thread....

There were/are two engines in the S2000. The AP1 had an F20C that revved to 9000 rpm and made about 220hp at the fly, if memory serves. The AP2 has an F22* (I forget the letter) that "only" revs to 8,000, but makes more torque. The engines are 2.0L and 2.2L, respectively. Both are RWD (obviously) and spin into a 6-speed gearbox.
As for how much? I have no idea. But here's a thread over at HT you might find interesting:
