Awww man, intake manifold leaking.
Re: Awww man, intake manifold leaking.
Honda will always tell you to buy Honda genuine parts...wonder why?
cuz its Honda!
they go on about warranty, and then so they can make the money on parts cuz that where the make the most money from...parts!
Ex: there was only a 1200.00 mark up on my 06' Civic, not much really.
dont worry about them, buy what you want as long as you research the stuff first.

I just don't know what brand to go for if I go aftermarket. Cometic, fel-pro, et cetera. It's weird, fel-pro makes an MLS HG for the civc, but it says not for racing for all their products. Since when wasn't MLS not for racing?

Re: Awww man, intake manifold leaking.
torque is higher with arp, and my headgasket was steel, and i got it from honda.... then again i have an 01. arp headstuds arent that much more expensive than oem, and u can reuse them. actually i got mine(arp) for less than oem by about 10 bucks, because summit has a coupon right now for 30 dollars off a 100 dollar purchase or more, and they were 105 with shipping, so i got em for 75 bucks
Re: Awww man, intake manifold leaking.
steel hg & ARP studs are used in boosted applications (T/C or S/C) whenever the pressures get to much for OEM, otherwise your head will come right off the block. But if you dont want the hassles of a possible OEM problem then this would also be ideal.

That's my logic. I would rather go with cometic steel. What is a DX any way, .30 and 76mm?

I'm discussing this here: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/2337547

Just go stock HG and Studs. You dont need any aftermarket on stock engine unless you are a ricer and whant to brag to your friends that you gained 50hp because you have a Cometic HG. Get a y8 from a 96-00 EX enginehead gasket which are about $35 much cheaper then any other engine at Honda from what I understand. I always re-surface my heads just to be safe so maybe its not a bad idea if you do it.
