For the love of god, don´t do it,. Last week at the track, there was this pimped out civic, it had dual exhausts, body kit, generic sri, lowered more than 2 inches, wheels, and it had so much stickers that it looked like an ice cream truck. My car is stock. I told the guy if he wanted to race, and he said yes. So we line up, and the guy fouls, then I take off. By the start, he already had about one car advantage. I caught up to him, passed him, and still came in one second faster than him. Afterwards his car couldn´t be turned on, LOL he had to tow it

That is so funny though had to have his towed

Ok I read enough
what is wrong with all of you? Dual exhaust doesnt make the car go any faster or slower. I have a 02 civic with a DC Sports dual set up and my car is the same horsepower ( not FASTER not SLOWER ). If one of you think for a second that your exhaust is a huge factor in making your civics go faster then you are the stupidest *** I ever met. Lets face it civics unless built will get beat by most cars, trucks and suv's. Do it ?! Dont do it its up to you and as far as ricey ISNT EVERYTHING??!!

whats even more rice than a dual exhaust on a 4 cyl. is a dummy kit.... thats kinda like adding fog lights to your car that dont even work....

Dual exhaust on a Civic. Yea, you'll gain Horsepower. I think gain is like 1 HP. The one in the drivers seats
Just get normal cat-back exhaust, save some backpressure for love of god.

taken from team-integra.net...
A common mistake sometimes talked about in "tuner" magazines is that you need some backpressure for the system to flow properly. This is a myth created by amateur testing methods. You can see the exhaust here is properly sized and will get the best performance out of any other sizes, bigger or smaller. So because it outperforms the bigger exhaust they just assume that backpressure was the key to success here. As you can see from this picture, they are wrong. The reason this exhaust performed the best was because the pulses were perfectly in line and able to draw each other out of the exhaust at the highest velocity possible.
this is why 3 inch piping is good for FI

Wow dual exhaust. . So you picked up that NSX huh? Oh nevermind. . . .
NOOOOO not on a Civic. Just isn't right. I laugh when I see a Civic, or Neon, or Cavalier with duals. Just not very . . . umm what's the word I'm looking for. . . pratical .
In reality, it's probably not going to do anything for power. However you might be able to get it to sound good. I did see this Cavalier once and after I laughed, I was like, "hey that sounds pretty good". Anyways. seems ricey to mee, but it's you car. If you want it .. go for it.

smack me if i'm wrong, but doesn't dual or single matter, especially if piping diameter matters?
2x 2.25 piping equals 4.5" of piping total. Unless, you're getting 1.125 piping on both sides ...which is pretty pointless.
Dual exhausts are ricey. Somebody said: "so isn't everything else?" Yes, that's why you don't do it! Interesting how the word rice gets thrown out so much, and yet ppl are so compelled to rice up their cars.
Somebody said in a previous thread that Accord V6 has a dual exhaust, therefore why can't we ....well if you knew how engines were, you would know that those are functional dual exhausts. V6 uses headers because of its V block, our cars use a single header.
Please, one loud muffler in a car is bad enough ...the way ppl drop their money on cars...

I think the word "rice" is way too overused, rice is all opinion based. There is no concrete definition, so why use it so much. It is all relative. What one thinks is rice, another may love. Try to convince someone to not do something based on concrete evidence using facts. That is much more beneficial then throwing out a word whose meaning varies.

2 x 2.25" pipes do not make the equivalent of a single 4.5" pipe.
Ok guys, here is the facts. Two pipes will reduce backpressure, but not as much as you think. I want to show you how to compare the flow of two pipes to one.
De = sqrt(2*(D1^2))
De being the equivalent diameter of a single pipe
D1 being the diameter of the pipes u want to use
Now, as above lets take 2 x 2.25" pipes
De = sqrt(2*(2.25^2))
De = sqrt(2*(5.0625))
De = sqrt(10.125)
De = 3.1819...
So 2 x 2.25 pipes would give you about the same flow characteristics of a single 3" pipe.
Now if you want two pipes close to the equivalent of a single 2.25 pipe then you would want 2 x 1.6" pipes. That would bring you to about a 2.26" equivalent pipe.
Hope this answers some of ur questions, although im pretty sure it will bring up even more questions.

is it just me or does that guys "informative" pictures remind you of the sperm pictures in health and biology class ?
