3 months old Stream batteries problem
3 months old Stream batteries problem
Hi all technical experts out there,
Really need your informed opinion about my friend's 3 months old Honda Stream batteries woes. the following are what happened:
1) Installed Pivot Voltage stabiliser at 2.5 months old (genuine & installed in JB). Also fitted car with DVD player (wiring linked both CD player & DVD player)
2) Experienced flat battery (45amp) after 3 weeks from Pivot installation. Replaced with 60amp battery last week. Battery guy claimed Stream should come with 60amp batt, not 45amp. New 60amp batt went flat after he returned from a 4 days overseas trip. New batt only 1 week old.
3) Went back to dealer mechanic, check revealed nothing wrong with alternator (of course, Pivot was removed prior to inspection to avoid warranty issue)
Question:
a) Could the Pivot Voltage stabiliser caused the battery issue?
b) What should he do? Should he fix the Pivot back?
Please share your learned opinion. Many thanks.

Re: 3 months old Stream batteries problem
try removing the pivot just to make sure. however, ive been running the HVS-GT which is similar for 2 yrs and my battery just now died (due to low electrolytes level) cause i never checked it. voltage stabilizer should not drain the battery, but its possible something else is using battery power even tho the car is off.

Re: 3 months old Stream batteries problem
Sure guys. The 1st week old batt regained proper voltage level after removing the Pivot. Advice him to monitor his car for a month without Pivot. Then test the batt condition. Should have better idea which the culprit then.
