d16 piston rings into d17?

yooo. i was wondering if standard d16 piston rings fit into the d17 (standard). i cant find any d17 piston rings for a decent price and i see lots of d16 piston rings for a pretty decent price. i know we can use the rod bearings etc from the d16 so wondering if we could use d16 rings too? thanks for any help.

Re: d16 piston rings into d17?

Stock for stock you'd have to measure them.
Aftermarket, you would have to use the correct height rings for the pistons you have.
If you need stockers, you can compare the part numbers on honda-parts-catalog.com and see, or measure the height of the stock ones and see if D16s use the same size.

and NO you cannot use D16 rod bearings... at least not without modifying them first. D17 rods are .150" thinner on the crank end.
