Automatic Tranny Problem

Anybody have problems with automatic tranmission on 2001+ Civics? I've had mine for about a year with just over 50,000km on it (yeah yeah, it's a lot I know) and noticed that downshifts are not as smooth as it used to be. It is espcially rougher when it's a stop and go situtation. I took it the dealership twice and they said nothing is wrong. But I rented another Civic just recently and it was much smoother than mine. Anybody else experienced this?

i don't know how much that is in miles but you can start off by changing the fluid.

I took it to Honda and they said that I shouldn't do it until 96,000km for the first change... or about 65,000 miles. After that, it is every 48,000km. Should I go on and change it anyway? Is it safe to do so?

it should be safe as long as you use the right stuff and put the right amount in

how do you drive? the transmission will adapt to your throttle input, and might get rougher/smoother based on how heavy your foot is, hehe.. so aside from a fluid check, maybe try resetting your ECU and see how it is after that?
