ok so ive just bought a 97 civic lx ... but ive noticed that on the web site it said that year had problems with 1st gear as a tsb and o course mine is messin up. i was wondering ,since ive never owned a import before, if i could do a swap to a manual trans? if so what would i need and what might be the cost? anyways thanks 4 checkin out this thread!

import or domestic.. a tranny swap is still a tranny swap.. this has been covered before, maybe not for your exact model and year car but its been covered before. since your new, try searching for any further questions. your going to need the ecu from a manual trans civic such as ur own, the tranny, shifter cables, shifter assembly...i duno.. a bunch of other stuff.. research

actually i did a little research my self and found ur right with the ecu and tranny and also i found a company that sells a trans mount kit ... the company is called innovative and they actually do stuff like that! any comments about swaps that anyone has done is more than helpful or even tips or a shorter cost effective way.... anyways thanx 4 checkin this out
