steering wheel lock.

is there a way? that you can unlock the steering wheel without the key being turned or watever.

as you may already kno, my key will not turn at all in my ignition.
i have tried everything from jiggling the steering wheel and turning the key to putting graphite powder (it actually made the key slide in faster, and i can tell it wants to turn, but the damn steering wheel is locked HARD)

i currently think its my steering wheel lock that is not making the key turned.

is there a way i can unlock the steering lock?
and where is it located in my 7thgen civic. thanks.

Re: steering wheel lock.

wasn't it that you turn the wheel to the left, while turning the key? sorry, but that's the only way i know to do it...sometime's it's hard, sometimes not...

Re: steering wheel lock.

if you remove the cover just behind the steering wheel u can find the igniton and somewhere around that is the locking mechanism which sometimes ccome loose with a screwdriver but it is easy to break so i would be careful if it does break your steering wheel will nevr lock again but im not sure if that will affect anything else if it breaks
