key won't turn at all, pls help. =[
i need help.
my key will not turn at all.
it was working fine through out the whole day, and when i was ready to leave lollicup, my key wouldn't go in for some reason.
soo i kinda jammed it in and went in.
now its not turning whatsoever.
so it was on the process of getting towed back to my house, when the tow man locks my steering wheel, making it more difficult to work with.
so my question is, what is wrong with it?
what is there to do?
ignitiion problem?

tried that since the steering wheel locked.
wish that tow man didn't lock it so this **** could be easier for me to figure out wats wrong. =[[

bro the same thing happen to my girls sentra...what happened was a small piece or plastic broke off the clip on top the ignition and fell inside the ignition jamming it and not allowing the key to turn...we had a locksmith come out and take it apart and get the **** out of it...pieced it back together and it was fine...sorry bro a locksmith is like 90 bucks but i would let him look at it...

mine did that once but it was because i had the wheel cranked to far just try to straighten it out then start it... if that doesnt work i duno maybe its what he ^^ said

Yeah, if the wheel wasn't locked when this started happening, that's probably not it. I'd try ed's idea, with the locksmith. Good luck.

what a coincidence haha..my girl has a prelude and it happened to her...she called the locksmith also and it was a piece stuck in the ignition. haha. how does that **** happen?!?! but that is funny how it happened to my girl also. just call the locksmith and he'll open it up for u.

did you have anyone look at it?? take the plastic off the steering column and look at it yourself?? or it is just sitting there??

I bet it is just setting there.
You will have to get proactive with it.
This means you will either have to take it apart yourself or pay someone to do it.

as of right now, it is just sitting there. =[
i am going to have a locksmith look at it this week.
i tried putting some graphite powder to loosen it, but it didn't work.
the key slides in perfectly now though.
so i am guessing the tumbler or something is jammed up.
