Cruise control sticks or hesitates
Cruise control sticks or hesitates
Just bought a 98 Civic LX for my son. 250K miles, but runs great. Upon driving it home, I noticed that the cruise control hesitated at first, then seemed to accelerate on its own. So, I tapped the brake and the light on the dash went off, but it kept pulling. Tried it again a couple times and even pressing the Cruise on/off button on the dash wouldn't stop it. Thinking a cable might be sticking or something. Anyone else run into this problem? Oh, CEL is on for Oxygen Sensor, but that wouldn't affect this.
Thanks.
Thanks.

yea you just need to adjust the cruise control cable...simple fix... look for the DIY here, it should relatively be next to the throttle cable i think

Re: Cruise control sticks or hesitates
i bet the cable is loose and gunked up. if you press the set button and it reacts too slowly, the cable is loose (cruise cable not throttle). or you may need to lube the cable or replace it.
