Re: ls vtec swap 98 civic

i was wondering what kind of longevity i'm going to get out of a freshly rebuilt ls block with ctr pistons along with the jdm si head and type r intake manifold. I want to know to what level i can play without running into catastrophic failure. I'm guessing about 100k miles before either the tranny or the block has problems. This would be with medium abuse. So i'm pretty much wondering how long everything will stay good? Thanks

man, LS/VTEC is alllllllllllll in the build, and I can't stress that enough. if you build it well and don't rev it to 9k all day, it'll last just as long as any other honda engine would.

Thanks that's exactly what i wanted to hear. I just figured with much higher compression there maybe some problems with the block, but that sounds real good to me. Thoughs other forums definitely have a h ll of alot more info. on these swaps. SO thanks again
