You'll need a wiring harness to draw power directly from the battery.
Since you already have the projectors as well why not retrofit them into the headlights?

they were stripped of the projectors before i got my hands on them. not complaing. i didnt want to go through the trouble of projector retrofiting the. whats this harness your talking about? where can i get one?
The wiring harness draws power from your battery, instead of your stock harness. HIDs require around 25,000V to start up the bulbs(but only 35W to maitain the light); this can fry your stock harness overtime. It's better to be safe than sorry.

are you talking about the ballasts? bc i have those also. i have the full G35 headlight. All the wiring and everything. minus the projectors.Originally Posted by buckshizzo

No. It's the wiring harness that connects to the ballast. The wiring harness supplies power to the ballast which, in turn, ignite the bulbs. Unfortunately you'll need the projectors also because the plug is for a D2S bulb, which is the factory bulb size. They won't work with any other bulbs. I have a set of fx projectors and those are pratically the same as the G35 projectors.
where can i get this harness?
You can try ebay. The only thing I'm concerned with is that your ballast is factory, which uses a different plug for the ballast. Most harnesses on ebay are designed for after market Hid systems that use a 9006/9005 plug type. You might have to do some wire cutting to get it to fit, that's if you have the factory plug that connects to the ballast.
Make your own wiring harness. They have a great thread on it over at HIDplanet.com. In your case that would be the route in which I would go. Then you know its right and you know every little thing you did to it.

i thought he said he searched.. these questions have been answered be4
im working on a e39 retrofit into my 01 sedan as we speak. if you have any specific questions, ask away, but from what youre asking, i think you should do some reading first, bc it appears that you dont have a clue whats youre doing.
ooo.. i like the g35 hids i used to have on my partial g35!
i just got ahold of ECE clear lens valeo d2s projectors, very rare, maybe something magical might happen with stock headlights in the future lol.

Not yet, I'm debating whether or not i should do it myself or send it to customlightz.com. I've just have been so busy that I don't have the time to do it myself. I swapped the fx lenses out with the tsx clear lenses. The tsx lenses have a better focal point and aren't fresneled. So far the output looks wide and intense with a color mod. I recommend you swap out the lenses with clear TSX lenses. This hybrid projector is up there with the s2K projectors.Originally Posted by EggRollBandit05

yea i would not recommend using fresnel lens, it severely reduces light output.
by the way what kelvin are the G35 HID kits?
all oem bulbs are between 4100k and 4300k for the most part. some special bulbs go up to 4800-4900k but they are harder to find.
