As everyone knows hona have engıne codes such as d17a2, d16y8 and so on but honda also made codes for the heads of the engines such as:

D15B1
1990 Std D15B1 4sp------PM9-5
1991 Std D15B1 4sp------PM9-3

What I wıll ask ıs that I need to fınf out about what the head code ıf d17a2 is can someone please fınd ıt out and tell me....We dont have the d17a2 engıne here so I cant look at ıt and I searched over the net and couldnt fınd ıt.....?????

well mine is pmh-hu 3 so cant do anythıng swapabale wıth d17 I guesss I tought that the d16v1 had the same heads as d17's....

Fortunately i'm swapping my non-vtec head for a vtec one as we speak. The codes are different but not by much.

Non-vtec or d17a1: PMR-HA-8
Vtec or D17a2: PMR-HA-3

Yeah they are not that different but why I ve asked this question was that I wanted to throw in a Vtec or D17a2: PMR-HA-3 crower cam into my PMH-HU3 maybe by knowing what these numbers mean I can have more info....

Does anyone know what these numbers and charecters stand for?

I have a d16v1 twin sister of d17a2 both are vtec and as our country taxes us according to engine displacements honda made a slightly smaller version od d17a2....

bores are the same cranks and rods are where main differences lie but as the head codes are kinda the same I taught that the crower cam would fit......

I would contact crower themselves and ask since the rocker arms may differ or not. You could also regrind your stock cam if the crower cam won't fit. Good luck I never heard of this engine. What country are you from?

Crower also probably never heard of this engine too as USDM market only d17 was realeased no d16 after 2001... So I did ask them via e-mail if this kinda cam would fit to my civic but never got a response what else should I do guys?

I wolud send my cam for them to work on it but then I wouldnt be driving my car for several months as I am situated in Turkey... I really hope that it works I can take photos of my cam and post it here if it works then we can maybe compare both cams...

Perhaps by a d17 vtec cam off here or from europe somewhere. I know boilermaker was selling his pretty cheap and compare that to your cam and that should give you your answer.

Let me know if Justin doesn't want to send to Turkey. It might be cheaper for him to get it to my US-style addy in the UK, and the I bounce it down to Turkey from here. Ya'll are part of the EU right? So customs fees shouldn't be that much of an issue.

Wer are part of the eu on the customs base and the fees are normal but nevertheless I have a cousin down in Newyork city I will get the full adress and have him send it there and so that she can send it to me directly or if she is coming over here then she can bring it with her self on the plane....

If not I ll let you know speedfoos and I ll let him send the item to you if it is not to much of a hassle....
