Setting the timing...
Setting the timing...
Is it difficult to adjust the timing on a 93 Civic EX? I think its off, and wanted to set it before I take it in for smog. I just picked up a cheapo timing light from Harbor Freight Tools... Any tips or pics would rock... thanks..

Re: Setting the timing...
you need to jump the service connector with a wire or the factory service connector jumper to put the computer in limp mode. you can get one from the honda dealership. or a plain wire will work. hook the timing light probe on the #1 plug wire, loosen the dizzy bolts, and time away. adjusting the timing can lower hydrocarbon and c.o. output **** tons. we do it to cars at work to get them to pass emissions. you would need a gas analyzer to do it though. good luck
