first, you need to take off the pieces surrounding your shifter. Just pull them up and they come off. Then you will see two screws by the cupholders but inside the piece you just took apart. Unscrew them then pop out the sides of that piece. Then if you could just pull it out. Underneath there should be two screws to the metal bar. Unscrew them then get a flathead screw driver to pop out the center console. You will need to remove the old stereo and the adapter and put in the new adapter with the new stereo in it. Plug everything back up. Hope this helps if you need more help just ask.

I just got by double din METRA trim piece off of ebay for about 20 bucks. If you are only going to utilize 1 din you may be better off with something like this.

Bojo makes nice plastic removal tools. My recommendation on removing these decks is to put a glove (snap-on, mac, crafstman or whatever) on your hands and push the whole assembly out from the backside after you've pulled the 8mms. The plastic tool can help in loosening the clips but pushing the deck from behind is a good way to get the heater/radio out.

ChristmasPie is right.
Once the two bolts are removed....I left them out. Now whenever I need to access wiring or anything i Just removed the trim piece containing the Cig Lighter and just push from behind and it comes out with no fuss.
Man Up. No gloves necessary though. Hah.

Eh, just trying to make it easier for the masses. If you do pull these enough (especially same car) they get easier and easier and yeah you don't need anything but one bare hand after those bolts. But if it's your first one you'll likely save yourself a bloody knuckle or two. Of course not that there's anything wrong with getting a little bloody.
