Expert Opinions Needed!!!

I just had a new OEM/Honda Parts clutch installed. The new clutch doesn't make the clutch pedal feel any different. As a matter of fact, it feels smooth and I almost have to press it all the way down to engage first gear. When I depress the pedal, it disengages right away. Please clarify what I should be experiencing with the clutch pedal. Should I feel a difference in the clutch pedal when pressing and/or depressing it as compared to the worn out clutch I had before?

It should feel exactly the way you described it. Its not a racing clutch for crying out loud.

I don't know what kind/year civic you have but that sounds like normal hydro clutch play to me. Hydro clutches automatically adjust so your pedal feel should be unchanged throughout the life of a clutch unless your clutch is toasted.

i've replaced a few clutches on numerous cars... the gear linkage will be the same as you said it will be on the engaging throw and it should act like you said it should.... in case you didn't know... did you check your throwout bearing and the rest of them during the replace,... because that is a major issue with the civics... i just got in my set-up and am about to replace the clutch plate, disc, and all the bearings....
