Question about Installing Car Alarm/Starter/Lock&Unlock

First of all...
car: 2002 Honda Civic, LX.
Well just bought 1 of those THOR Car Alarm unit, where you can Start engine, unlock and lock aswell with the alarm.
The thing is i already have Keyless entry from Honda already in the car. Now my question is if i want to install THOR Car alarm what tools or how would i install this? Whats the difficulty level in this? I just want to try it out before i take it to my mechanic and ask him to install it. I understand that yall got no time for a newbie like me.... but comon... i wanna try something out too... just bought the civic... would be so wicked if i could install it my self.... rather than just take it to the mechanic...

i would take it to the shop cuz theres lots of wiring to do. you would have to take the covers off the steering column and do lots. and its good to know that it was done right. but if you do decide to install it your self there are many diy to other stuff that will show you the wires to what you need. maybe other members will help post up but i feel too lazy

For the OEM factory alarm, you can either unplug the box (easiest) and then wire up the alarm, or you can keep it and tie the aftermarket alarm into it (harder), that way you can have dual alarms.

For the keyless entry, you don't have to do anything. You can wire the alarm with it still in.

I just wired up a compustar 2wss-as into my 05 LX, and it took me about 6-7 hours with stops in between for food, smoke, ****, crap breaks.

It's not hard at all if you know how to spot wire colors.

Factory security control module is located under the driver's side of the dash, note that factory keyless entry isn't necessarily factory security. The keyless receiver is in the middle of the dash so you might not have an alarm module at all. If you have factory alarm I would recommend disconnecting or disabling it for integration reasons. These things are really intense to install so you might be biting off more than you can chew, if you don't already own a multimeter walk away NOW or be prepared to pay a lot to have it fixed if something goes horribly wrong. If you go for it best of luck and hit me up with any questions.

Bringing back a thread from almost 4 years ago lol. I would charge $100, its pretty easy to do, you just have to test and tap into wires, you only cut 1 wire for the starter disable..
Its really not that hard.
