Wink door courtesy lights mod

this is a nice mod that comes factory on many cars, not ours though! what i did was install side markers in the outter most, lower corner of my door on the inside- i painted the top half of them red with a translucent spray paint i got from a hobby store. these lights are wired to the dome light circuit which can be found in the drivers side A-pillar (green wire, white/blue wire). you will find 2 white/blue wires there- as far as i kno- only one of them works- its a 50/50 chance youll get the right one on the first try (i did ).

because its wired to the dome light circuit the lights will come on and off when the dome light goes on and off, they will also fade off just like the dome light. however- they cannot be enabled or disabled on command unless you install your own seperate switch into the circuit. you must take the door panels off to run the 2 wires through the rubber flex boot in the door jamb. i used a hanger and some electrical tape to get the wire through. for the passanger side- run the wire (i used thick speaker wire) just over the widshield, tucked into the ceiling- then down the passanger side A-pillar and into the door jamb, etc.

sorry for the lack of pics, if you guys really want some, i can take some. good luck!

I want to see it, I think gearbox did this mod a while back also. I'm not sure if he tapped it into his dome lights or not though.

Trunk light = Honda Part # 34261-S5A-003 Lens, I bought one for $8.36

I installed one in the lower rear section of the console to light up the floor in the rear.

sorry for the blurry pics- my camera is from the stone age

this is what the inside of the drivers side A-pillar looks on my 01 coupe.

see- there are 2 white/blue wires with silver dots.. not sure if the other one will work.. the green/red wire is a definite.
