been a while
well, it's been a while since i've been here, but i've still got my inca pearl yellow 2001 LX! pretty much i've been wondering if anything new has come up since the last time i've been here, and since it appears i'll be stuck with my '01 for at least 3 more years until i get out of college (or if i get a nice fat raise at work, which i doubt) i figured i could mod it a bit more then it is currently. right now i have a progress front sway bar, and rear strut bar.
ok let's start off with the basics. i don't want to do a swap, and really am not interested in FI since A. the car's auto and b. i really don't need extreme performance, just a bit more fun. i am planning on getting out and getting a rear progress sway bar with the LX install kit seeing as i don't currently have any kind of rear sway bar. also, i'll prolly get some adjustable coilovers (prolly a set of teins).
now let's talk engine. i'm lost. i've been away for so long i don't even know what's available. did any company ever release a camshaft for our cars? EX or LX since i might be able to do an EX head swap. what about pistons? anything out there to raise compression a few notches? and any kind of good valve train kits out there?
oh, what kind of air intake would be recommended? has anyone figured out if short or cold air was better? btw, thanks for any help that anyone can give.

yup, im checking it out atm. forgot all about it then i saw that this forum was sponsored by them =P. i'm looking at the camshafts atm, do you have any info on those? do the N/A ones actually make a difference worth the $385 price tag? oh, and what's the current price tag on a DIY auto to manual swap?
hmmm... i'm checking out 02-04 SI prices and it seems like i can actually get an SI for about 1-2 grand over what i can sell my 01 for. worth it? or should i just stick with the LX for another 3 years?

just keep the car and your money. no reason to dump all this for a few hp. believe me there are more parts but you wont get the power you want. accept it being slow and move on. there are ton of other things you can do without messin with engine.
