Xenon blue lights
Xenon blue lights
Hi, I'm very new here. Can anyone tell me if I can replace the factory headlight bulb with the Xenon blue headlight bulb? I mean, just the bulb, or do I have to change the whole headlight assembly. By the way, I have a 2001 Civic sedan. Thanks.
Hey guy! It's quite easy to change to da Xenon blue blub. I suggest either the Eurolight Xenon or a PIAA Plasma. The part is an H4 bulb I believe.
Just open your hood, remove the power sterring fluid resivour (sp) on the driver side (don't disconnect hoses just move it out of the way). If you ya look down and front (of the car) you'll see the connector to your headlight (a black cube with a wire running out of it) in the middle of a black weather seal "doughnut" (I'm Canadian Eh!) Just press the clips on the connector and pull it out. Then you will see two black tabs on the weather seal one on top and one on the bottom. Just grab and pull. This might take some time to work it off the headlight assembly. Once that is off, you will see that your lightbulb is held in place by a thin, wire-like metal brace. To remove it, push the brace towards the passenger side and pull back (towards the engine). Your stock light blub should fall right out now. Becareful not to touch the glass part of the either the original or the Xenon bulb, it will serverly shorten the life of the bulb. Next pop in the new bulb, noting the position of the ridges on the blub and the headlight assembly. Replace the brace (if your fingers have recovered from the pain in removing it). Then put the weather seal back on noting that one side of the "doughnut" says "top" and reconnect the connector. Turn on the headlights to see if it works. Then replace the power steering resivour. Now do the same to your passenger side headlight (minus the power steering resivour) and your DONE! There is are complete instructions (with diagrams) on how to do this in your owner's manual.
I also suggest that you replace the little "white" parking light in the "O" (between the headlight and the orange turning signal/parking light) with a Xenon 194 bulb or an LED 194 bulb. Just so it would match.
Cheers!
