Dropping your car / rims...

Okay... so my friend got new 17" rims and he rubs like HELL. I see that a lot of you guys have ground control springs and 17" wheels... I was wondering how the hell you guys aren't rubing your tires against your wheel wells. I want to get 17" rims, decently big tires(not ultra low profile) and maybe drop my car alittle. How do I do this without rubbing?
Thanks for the input

Your friend probably got rims with the wrong offset... Or dropped it too far... OR any combination of these

I've got 17" Konig Sub Zeros and about 2 1/2" or more drop. I don't rub at all....I'm willing to bet what Mokushi said is correct. Don't buy just any rims. Make sure they fit the requirements for our car.

I have 18 inch niche pultecs with sportline 1.4 drop and I get NO rub ...
the camber looks screwed up cause my tires curve in about 1 degree ... but its just enough , the lip of my
rims comes right to the inner lip of the fender . its a 4dr too i dont see how you coudl have problems . If you want you
can do what my future plans are ..... get the rear fenders crimped . make sure u get it done by a bodyshop cause paint likes to
flake. But thats cause I want dubs. lol oh yeah my tire size is 215/35/ 18

This is interesting I found out that our rear wheel wells are smaller than the fronts so if you don't get the right tire size it will rub. I gat a wheel and tire package but the tires are to big so they are getting my very low profile tires. So now I will be able to fix me camber. I can't beacuse it rubs.
