wrong coupler size for intake?

I received my K&N Typhoon intake today and the coupler is the wrong size! It appears to be about 3" the intake and TB are 2-3/8" (correct me if im wrong) - I ordered it from sounddomain and I've emailed them, has anyone else had this problem and is there any other solution than just waiting for the response and getting the correct size coupler.. no auto parts store carries this odd size on hand

(I've been told it shrinks but I can't even get it inside the coupler, if installed Im sure it wont be air tight)

here is another pic, its blurry but I gotta run, I can post more later.

do you have pic of whole intake cause i believe there are two models floating around. one has an open front cone filter, K&N writing on the pipe, and blue hose couplers. the newer one just has a K&N small metal sticker, regular closed top filter, and black hardware.

mine has the metal sticker, closed filter, and black hardware (well black rubber you mean - the clamps of course are metal/silver color - but yea the gromet, coupler, and hose are black)
