Question Swaping out an '01 LX Civic Engine

Hey, Im new here but hope to find some good advice.

I was wondering how many pounds of boost I can safely run in a single turbo kit for a built D17A1 engine. I'm also looking into possibly switching the engine out to a bigger motor. I am looking into forged rod/piston combos and also a stroked crank if possible. This is for a DD car and I plan to do heads, cam, intakes and a full exhaust.

I'd like to know what my options are, if I were to do the following..

a) swap a built motor in place of my stock one, what motors would fit without too much customization or changing motor mounts? if any, are there any good sites that I can get a custom build with pistons designed for my setup(ie CR Ratio)

b)Would it even be worth it to build a D17A1 as opposed to buying persay a K202A(Acura RSX Type S). Would this engine fit with minor modification and use of stock mounts?

c)Dealing with turbo kits, I'm looking for a large kit making over 10lbs of boost preferably. Any reccommended brands or sites I should be looking at?

Also aside from that do i have a vtech engine...if not should and/or could i swap for a vtech? Arew there vtec conversion kits for engines possibly equipped without vtech?

Bare in mind that cost is not something I'm worried about and I want my car to be fast and I want to "Do it the right way!" - BP

Thanks in advance any and all feedback would be greatly appriciated.

Well first off this topic is well covered use the search button. using stock mounts you can only swap out a d17a2 . you can make a decent amot of power with the d17 with the dezod kit which is found at dezod.com or you can swap for a k series engine but you will be 3-7 grand in the hole for the motor and mics parts you will need. bacicly its how much power you want to make but do us all a favor and search.
