Rep Power: 0 Tuner Lug Nuts?
I'm shopping around for my summer wheels now, but I come across wheels that need "tuner lug nuts".
What are "tuner lug nuts"? From pictures I see, they are just smaller and usually used for aftermarket wheels. Is there anything I should know about them? Can you get tuner lug nuts with a unique pattern (like regular wheel lug nuts) to prevent theft or do they all come in a standard attachment pattern?

Rep Power: 0 tuner lugs, i think, are longer and i think some have different heads so you use like an allen type set up so the socket goes on the inside of the nut not the out side. i could be way off.

Rep Power: 281 Since this is a problem I just had to deal with, so I will offer all the help I can. If your wheels require tuner lugs, that means that the wheels have the lug portion inset into the wheel. They also have a minimum of clearance and require thinner lugs, plug an ordinary socket will not fit into the hole.
Tuner lugs use a key, rather than using a socket. The least expensive use an allen type of key. These are the easiest to find, but are cheap and expose the lug to the outside world.
The best lugs I found were made by McGard. You can check them out at www.mcgard.com
Plus not only will you find some cool lug nuts, even colored ones, they will also offer locks to keep the wheels on YOUR car.

Rep Power: 0 Some tuner lug nuts have a wrench that goes inside the head of the lug & some have a wrench that goes around the outside of the lug nut. I have had both.....My Konig Monsoons came with tuner lugs that had the wrench go around the outside of the lug nut & my Enkei Shoguns have lugs where the wrench fits inside the head of the lug nut. They are basically just smaller lug nuts. Any wheel shop can tell ya what type of tuner lugs you need for a particular wheel.
