Dear Derek, please make a topic labeled "If you have nothing else better to do than flame peeps and not supply any help, CLICK HERE"
Maybe a$$holes would go there instead of where people actually like to post questions to get answers....DAMN, and I call my lil brother immature... And he is 6.

1028civic....i wasnt saying you were flaming......i meant the others that have to hate rather than help!!
1028...id just toy around with it a bit....maybe follow the diy for taking off your center console....im sure it cant be that hard!!! just dont make any big decisions without thinking ahead.....
and if you are brave enough, you can try to post here again and get some questions answered....but that might be a big risk

i thought some one on here did it before
i would think you would have to pull everthing up
get some type of bracket and attck it to the lower console and shift boot
can't be but so hard.
experiment and be a DIY'er.

Hey I took off the middle piece that goes around the lil letters that say park, drive, N etc. Do the DIY for removing the headunit and only to to the part where you take out the piece that goes around that 12V power supply thing. Pop up that lil clip on the top of the plastic piece I talked about in the beginning and look under it. It's held on by little clips, so you gotta kind of push 2 in with a screw driver and jerk it up. I painted that plastic piece, but yeah that's how you get it off. Just look around, it's not too hard to take a car apart. I dunno about putting another shifter on there though. I got a magazine from JCW that sells some of those shifters, go to www.jcwsportcompact.com and check them out. I'm sure there's hella more places too.
Hope this helps, I dunno if thats even what ya asked

I bought the Matrix shifter ($22 from Summit Racing) and OEM manual shiftboot from hondaautomotiveparts.com ($32)
I opened up the center console using Goasty's DIY (thanx!)
It took me 2 hours, because I had to cut the inside of the plastic ring (on the shiftboot) to fit on my shifter
Are you coming for the meet? I can show you there

Hey Blv,
Thanks for the info.
I will probaly order them later this morning.
I'm assuming your talking about the meet on the 16th at the beach. I'm pretty much there. Just haven't offically committed, but you can count me in.
So...hopefully I can get them in by that date, so you can show me what to do.

Hey I just did this the other day, it's real easy...here are some pix. Just follow the DIY for removing HU...once you have every thing off its just a matter of squeezing four clips and off it comes...you could change your light bulb color too if you wanted while your there. I wanna make everything graphite blk in my interior and probably paint other parts same color, sutle but effective IMO.
