Push button ignition & steering wheel lock
I have a push button ignition setup in my car, but no accessory switches, so I still have to turn the key to "on" for it to work. I've been researching about mounting switches for all the acessories (or wire them all to one switch, whatever) so that the key doesn't have to be in to start it. However, the steering wheel lock is mechanical, is it not? Is there any way to have a switch on the steering wheel lock or is it purely mechanical?
BTW, I'm planning on a hidden switch under the seat that will disable starting the car at all (anti-theft device), and then one switch for the accessories/steering-lock and the push-button starter.
Thanks.

the steering wheel lock is mechanical, you could try and take the column apart and rig something up...not sure how it is on a honda, but in a ford its just a pin that you can take out and the lock is gone.

hmm. i dont know if i want to just take the lock off...it's a pretty good anti-theft device in and of itself. Anyone know more about disabling it though? I'd like to not have to use my key at all, but I may end up disabling the lock.
