Question AEM CAI w/Bypass

I have done a search on this and have found mixed reviews. My question that I am trying to get answered is if adding a bypass to the AEM CAI would result in a loss in power or sound? I will be placing it between the pipe connecting the throttle body and the pipe connecting to the filter. I am not going to cut the pipe as stated in the directions. On my setup it fits securely. So again my question is if I set it up this way will I loose power or sound???? Thanks

You will lose a tiny tiny bit of power, and a tiny tiny bit of sound....probably not even enough
to notice....but you will notice if your engine sucks up a puddle from the side of the road, and
you engine chokes on it and dies.....for the tiny loss of power and sound, it's better to be safe then
have a blown engine....

Mapes, this is my setup. I decided against the Bypass. Actually its on Ebay as we speek. The yellow arrow shows where I was going to install the bypass. The one I was sent fit perfectly here but the instructions called for cutting the pipe. At first I didnt like the CAI, it actually felt slower. I had reset the ECU as stated here and it was sluggish. After about 200miles its back to normal and I can tell a big increase with the CAI. I love it now and don't want to adjust anything on it. I have the filter a hair above the splash guard. I highly reccomend getting the AEM CAI, but if you do the install yourself I dont reccomend resetting the ECU. Just let it be and it will adjust itself, maybe you can avoid the sluggishness......

Lata,
Ozzy
