Clearing Your 7th Gen Civic Headlights

Ok i know this question has prolly been asked before i checked the DIY for Clearing Your 7th Gen Civic Headlights. But it says nothing about putting the headlights in the oven do u need to do this step to clear them out or is this only for blacking them out.

thanks

I guess you can, but when I did mine I just got some good sylicone(i think thats how you spell it) sealer and let it dry for like an hour and they haven't leaked and its been almost 2 years now.

Baking after painting makes the paint and glue dry faster. thats it. All this will do is help you get your headlights back into your car faster, since the glue you put on dries faster.
There is nothing else to really be said. Its not necessary, but will let you do the mod faster. I personally did not do it.

FYI I used RTV Silicon (from walmart) and it has been 100% air tight since the day I did it. Its the only thing you should use to seal them back up!!

Nope forget the oven, you don't need it. RTV is fast drying too.

Also you will notice those metal clips on the headlights. Once you get the silicon on (make sure you use more than enough to make the seal air tight) you put the clips back on and from there you are basically ready to put the housings back in.
Once the silicon is in place and the clips are on, the clips will prevent the silicon from moving. So just let it sit for 30-90 mins and re-install the housings.

He means baking them to get them open. I don't know if it's needed or not, I've never done it.

Then the answer is still a big NO. It might be easier with a hair drier if they won't come apart easily, since you are forced to take your time and do it right.
