Need some general A/C Help
I have a leak in my evap core in my dash which is releasing all the r134. you dont want to know the estimate... Has anyone used those autozone sealants for the a/c before on any car??? did it seal leaks? I guess this is a real common thing down south on all cars because of how much we use the a/c. thanks!
That happened to my old Honda and it was not cheap (I am thinking in the 500 to 700 range). The leak on my evaporator was not fixable. Well I asked him about that sealant and he said its only a temporary fix. If you can get to the evaporator and can find the leak, have someone who works on AC try to fix it for you. As long as you have a set of torches and the freon (r134 is very expensive) you should be fine.

about $4 a bottle or soo.......... r12 is illegal as it causes ozone depletion.....
evaporator will have to come out...its not hard its just time consuming as you have to recapture the gas/liquid.... make sure its allllll out pack for moisture control so you don't f anyinternals up, replace the evap, replace the hosing, replace the refrigerant and make sure proper pressure and vacc is there and voila...
