Question resistor on injector

So, my friend was telling me bout how adding a resistor box, or resistors to the injectors will make them work more efficiently? Or how does adding resistors to injectors help them perform better?

first off, adding any type of resistance to the injector would make it work less efficent. the coil inside of the injector has a preset resistance. if that resitance limit increases above the limit, the injector wont operate properly, it may not work at all. think of it like this. it takes 12V to operate your blower motor for your AC and heater at full capacity. Now say you have only 7V making it to the blower motor because a resistor was added in that circuit, the blower motor will work at half capacity thus not blowing air very hard. all because of added resistance in the circuit. same applies to the injector. resistance is something that is not wanted in the electrical system. Now it is different for certain sensors on the car that work off of something called a negative temperature coefficent. like the IAT sensor. as resistance goes up, temp goes down. also if resistance goes down, temp goes up. these are the so called "speed chips" you see on ebay, its a resistor added to the IAT sensor so the computer thinks the IAT is sensing a lower temp. (more resistance, lower temp, resistance goes up, temp goes down).

But this doesnt work for an injector. Hope this shines some light for you and your friend.

resistor boxes where used on early cars and some injector swaps. they don't improve anything. you either need them or not. in our case, not.
