body molding??
has anyone "shaved" their body molding. i have a silver dx and the black trim looks hideous, well not that bad but i want to get rid of it. has anyone done this and if so how does it look. i'm just curious cuz on old cars they had like holes where plugs kinda snapped in place, i think now they just use glue or tape.

hey thanks, have you done it to yours and if so how does it look, is the paint different?? or has it faded around it? let me know as much as possible before i do it. what do you recommend for adhesive remover (some bug and tar remover???)
well.. i dun got it on mine.. but from what i know is that the body moulding on thee 7th gen coupes are stuck on at the dealership, over the paint job.... there's this adhesive remover product out ther that's in a squeeze bottle and has a flexible plastic scrpaer on it.. forgot the brand...i'll see what else i can find. btw what year and mdel is yours? and what do you mena by black trim?cause you do know the body moulding is the long piece of plastic that goes along the middle of the doors, right? the body mouldings should've been body coloured...well i'll see what i can find out but just tell you your car specs.. so i dun give you the wrong info
<< the body mouldings should've been body coloured >>
Well, unless you have an lx or ex, the body moldings are not painted to match the body color, they are black. For the 7th gen the lx finally got body colored moldings, however the mirrors are still black. The ex/si is the only model (I'm not counting the new si/r) with body colored moldings and mirrors. I'm assuming you guys are referring to the sedans right? Because the body moldings are an option or the coupes, but who would get em?
<< wtf, i don't got side body moldings! >>
I think it's an option for the car. I never knew it had moldings either until i saw my friend's silver Civic. They looked nice... I think they're a few hundred dollars.
michaels arts and crafts sells the adhesive remover its called "Goo Gone" or "Goo B Gone", there are several different sizes and they are normally hanging down from the top shelves on clip strips

Hey Gomez, i have some of that stuff and i also have some bug and tar remover which is good, have u done this modification before though is my question??? has anyone, i am doing it tommorrow so people let me know please!!!!
I was going to take mine off also, but most people told me that they were stuck on with adhesive only on the coupe. They said that they were held on by clip that went into holes in the doors, so if you take them off you have to fill the holes and then paint them. So if you do decide to do this let me know how it goes. Would like to do it, just don't have the B***S to do it.
