?s about stock IM potential

I have looked around and seen many projects involving adapting existing IMs for D17s and even a great looking fully custom made IM. My question to some of you who have done this:

Is there any room for improvement with the stock plastic mani?

What does it look like inside?

Do YOU think it would be practical to "polish" the thing (is there any kind of flash in there)?

This may be a strech... Could you possibly heat the thing up and re-shape it in any way?

the stock intake manifold is a pain it the *** to port out. It gums up everything because it melts instead of grinding. So you get a really rough surface in there.

also, it is a 2-piece manifold. There is no way to re-shape it by heating it up.

basically, the stock manifold cannot easily be improved upon. The only thing i can think of that may help would be extrude hoaning it. But i dont know if they would do that, and it is more expensive than a new manifold.
