resonator...with or without???

I recently got my muffler replaced and at the same time got the 21/4 pipe from the cat-back without the resonator. However, someone told me that it's better to have a resonator cause I need back pressure for some quality HP. Is it true? Which way is better for better performance? Car sounds sweet without it though!!!

since you have 2.25" pipes, you'll be fine. as long as u didn't go out and get 3" pipes, you don't really have to worry about backpressure

Well, it all depends. How many time did the guy bend your pipe? all those bend contribute to your back pressure and how much you get. if you really want 2¼ piping you should get 2½ piping with the pipe going above the control arm. if you really wanted no back pressure(turbo apps) you have your piping come straight through right under your lower tie bar and have one bend take it to the opening. IF you are wondering how I got the ½¼: using the keypad hold alt and type 171 or 171. Its the ASCII number for characters.

I think the dude set it up like the factory pipes. Bent it quite a bit.... Will it harm the HP if I add an aftermarket resonator?
