wow this site Rules maybe you can help me?

first of all i guess i will introduce myself due to the fact that i plan on spending alot of time here, The name is Rory i live in panama city florida, 21 years old and im in the Air Force. i bought my 2k1 bout 4 months ago, havent done a whole lot to it yet cept the cheap stuff like tint and new shift **** and pedals. i finally saved up enough money for Rims and Tires, but heres my dilema, i cant decide if i should get 205/40/17 or 215/40/17.... not sure if will make a big difference but i like wide tires (I traded in my 95 camaro for my 2k1) but even more i hate skinny tires on imports. so i know what your thinking. GET THE 215's but i dont want the tires to tall i like the rubberband look on the rims. and i figure 215's will make them a bit taller. so any advice will be very apreciated, im very impatient and im goin to get the rims tomorrow so if im about to make a big mistake let me know.
thanks in advance

215 wont make them any taller, if you moved from 40 to 45 then it would be taller, wider doesn't mean taller.

Also another thing to consider is that the wider the tire contact
patch, the more likely chance you have of hydroplaning. But anyways, I
was torn between the 205 and the 215 myself, and decided to go with the 205.
And what's 10mm anyways...a lizard *****...??

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, there is a slight diff in height between 215's and 205's. They aren't just wider.

don't forget that, if you get a wider tire it means more friction which means it will slow you down more.

I personally am going to get the 215/45/17 because it is the closest match to the stock size. everyone has their own taste though so do what you want, its your car.
