im gonna tint my windows and i was wondering if it was very hard to do a good job urself. i saw it done on unique whips one time and it didnt look that hard, but i see a lot of cars with crappy *** tint jobs with bubbles and tint peeling here and there. so i just wanted to get some opinions before i did anything
you need the tools, i think they use a heat gun and some sorta tool for smoothing, if u have those u can try it out, worst case take it off.. if u use cheap tint it'll come off easy.. but i cant imagine tint removal is hard if its DIY tint.
IMO its worth it to have it professionally done.

dont try it. Just dont. Look at what a bad pro job looks like. Now imagine a average first time job. A good pro will take about an hour per car. Its worth the money.
dont do it....... i tried couple of times, but i ended up ripping it back out and went and got it done professionally.
you need a heat gun, spray bottle, squeege, a hard card, and a whole lot of patience. I went through a $300 roll of tint before being comfortable enough to work on a car and get it done right the first time. It's a PITA, spend the money and get it done by a pro
you can buy pre-cut tint. the windows are easy...what i do is i take the windows out. this is much easier. if you get tint get llumar tint it has a slight metallic look in the sun at certain angles and its the best on the market right now. my advice is dont do it yourself its not worth the hassle.
Its DIFFICULT, I had my vic 35% all-around yestarday and the guy is a professional, and he was 2 hours and a half with my car, he used even a a heat blower, very nice work, I like it a lot. $110 with warranty.
If you've seen people do it before you might be able to manage the front and rear (it being a sedan) windows, but when it comes to the rear quarter windows on the coupe, its got the teflon dotted **** that tint doesnt like to stick to, and the back window is always a pain in the ***. Most places charge like $150 to it around here, and its done in an hour or so. Well worth paying the price.
U would never wanna try it yourself... trust me. Its hard as hell and you wont be able to make it look very good
I've done my own tint before with great results. But I took all the glass out of the car! The tough part is getting the glass totally clean. On curved glass, you need to heatgun the tint to stretch it. I took my 02 to the tint shop. Wasn't going to do that again. The back window will kill you. My last one was a hatch, so it was doable. Just pay a shop and get a warranty.
I remember I had an Integra I had to get tinted before and boy did that guy hate me afterwards. The back glass had old tint stuck on it and it took him a good 45 min. to scrape it off.
yea man....take everyone else's advice and consider mine as well.....dont do it urself...have a professional do it....cutting and sizing the tint is horribly hard to do....the positioning simple enough if you kno what you're doing....but when you get down to removing the bubbles, you're gonna have a real hard time with that....dont waste ur money by doing it urself....just save up and have the pros do it....mine only cost $125....for....5% windshield strip, 5% rear windows and rear quarter windows, 15% front driver and passenger, 15% rear windshield....they got done in about 45 minutes....very pleased with the results....btw, I told the guy i wanted 5% all around but he told me that if i went 15 up front and 5 in back, it will make everything look equally dark...so i took his advice and he was absolutely right...
I did the rear side windows myself. I had no trouble doing it and there it not a single bubble, its not peeling, and its not purple. Personally I wouldn't try doing the front 2 or the back windshield myself. The only reason I did the back 2 only was to keep the sun off of my daughter, i wasn't worried about any other ones.
