removeing air vent trim

i wanted to remove the air vent trim pieces so i could paint them. i did a search and someone said to pry the air vents off. won't this make the air vents loose when i put them back? Also, has someone removed the air vent trims another way?

All you have to do is pull it straight off......DON'T PRY IT OFF !! You will warp the vinyl that surrounds the vent and it will
look like crap. Just get a good hold of the vent and pull that thing off......you will think you broke it when it comes off, but you won't !!

where would you suggest grabbing hold of it to pull it off? it doesn't seem like there's any place that you could get a good grip.

its actually really easy, i just got a really tiny screw driver, the kind they use to repair eye glasses, then put a rag over it, and started at the bottom and got it up about 1/4 an inch, then put the fingers under it and pulled. you will see it just pops right out.

unscrew the two screws in the bottom, put ur thumbs in the tray under the cd player or whatever u might have, push the top two air vents down place the rest of ur fingers in there and then pull. it worked like a charm for me more than once
