Aem Ems
I had bought my 30-1030 AEM EMS from Dezod (Big up to Dezod). For about one week it was by the tuner because he was having a problem, the car was not starting. To sum it up in a nut shell:-
The EMS has a function called "stat sync" that must turn ON before the EMS will do anything (eg inject fuel, send spark etc) There are two paremeters that determine when stat sync turns on and the two are cam & crank sensors. Our cranks\cam sensor have 3 wires, 12volts-ground-5volts. I was not getting the 5volts signal on my crank sensor. After days of troubleshooting we realised that because my civic is the Japan model, when the stock ECU is connected to the EMS via the connector D cable (so that the stock AC and coolant guage could work) the EMS does not send a 5volt signal to the crank sensor so therefore the "stat sync" function doesn't turn ON
When we unplugged the stock ECU and just run the EMS alone and the car worked like a charm.
pulls like a bitch. The only problem now is my coolant guage and my AC does not work. I have to send AEM my stock ECU so that they can resolve this issue of non-US civics.
