A heat gun and a thin flexible putty knife. Then take lacquer thinner to get the tape residue off.

Please explain to me how a fast evaporating solvent like thinner is going to remove a thermoset clear. He's removing tape residue, not washing his car with thinner. I wish I could count how many times I took a rag with thinner and wiped off spray paint on a car from vandalism. Followed up with some polish and it was done, no paint damage.

PLEASE READ MY POST!
I have used it, you have used it, but you have to be careful. If you have experience, its no problem.
Rember for most people-more is better -so I don't want him to "soak" off the tape residue.(and his paint)
